5 animal stories that can move us to laughter or tears

Dogs and cats can make us laugh or cry and the following are examples of just that.

There's the sad story of a loyal dog that won't leave the scene of her owner's death after 83 days and the hilarious moment when a rat starts chasing a cat. Yet another cat stars in the modelling scene in Istanbul, Turkey, while a terribly obese dachshund is rescued and put on a diet. Last, but definitely not least, is a wacky guy in the UK who recreates famous movie scenes, using his pet cats.

Dog waits on busy road for dead owner for more than 80 days

A heartbreaking video of dog loyalty has gone viral on Sina Weibo, the Chinese microblogging site, attracting 1.5 million views. It shows a dog waiting on a busy road in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, since her owner died August 21 this year. The BBC quotes a taxi driver as saying drivers often stop and give her food, but she always runs away when anyone tries to help her. He said he sees the dog every day and that the relationship between man and dog is a true one. It is unknown how the owner died.

Cat and mouse chase that turned tail in Luxembourg

Now for a more humorous story. On November 5, a passerby captured the following video footage in Esch-sur-Alzette in Luxembourg. It shows a cat strolling in the street until it comes across a rat. The cat can be seen first jumping in surprise, before deciding to try and catch the rat. However, the live action soon reversed as the rat stands its ground and then starts chasing the terrified tabby cat.
