After 'Airlift', the actor was back with a fun entertainer 'Housefull 3' which released on June 3rd, 2016. The film collected Rs 109 crores nett at the Indian markets and it was a back-to-back Hundred crores film for Akshay Kumar.

During the second half of the year 2016, the actor came up with the film 'Rustom' which minted Rs 128 crores nett and became a superhit at the box office.

On the other hand, the actor is playing antagonist role in India's costliest film 'Robo 2.0' which is made with a whopping budget of Rs 450 crores and the film was directed by Shankar. The shooting of this movie is in final stages and it will be wrapped by April. The filmmakers are planning to release the movie for Diwali 2017.
