To celebrate the success of her latest hit "Piku", Deepika hosted a grand success bash for the movie at Olive in Bandra with invitations being sent out to what looked like the entire Bollywood industry.
Piku's success bash marked the presence of the who's who of the entire Bollywood industry, but those who were in the city but were not present at the event have drawn a lot of attention. Ranbir Kapoor (Deepika's ex- boyfriend and co -star) was in Mumbai and was also spotted playing a friendly football game with his director friend Ayan Mukherjee on the weekend, but was not seen anywhere at the success bash.
Along with Ranbir even Katrina Kaif who is just back from Cannes also gave the Piku bash a miss. Apart from the Piku cast and crew, those who attended included Shahrukh Khan with whom Deepika made her Bollywood debut, Kangana Ranaut, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Dia Mirza with her husband Sahil Sangha, Huma Qureshi, Kalki Koechlin, Deepika's Finding Fanny co-star Arjun Kapoor, Sushant Singh Rajput with girlfriend Ankita Lokhande, Deepika's Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani co-star Aditya Roy Kapoor and many more.
Ranveer Singh like always grabbed the most eyeballs with his funky attire and one of his arms in a cast. His monochrome printed pants were complimented with a funky and funny printed shirt which made him stand out in this event full of Bollywood mavericks.
When we are talking about fashion, how can we leave behind Kangana Ranaut! She dazzled the party in a cool chick avatar. Anurag Kashyap who has been receiving a lot of flak for his recently released "Bombay Velvet" was also present at the success bash.
On the other hand Deepika's outfit mesmerized everyone at the party; she wore a black gown designed by Monisha Jaising.
Apart from Ranbir and Katrina, the movie's soul Mr. Amitabh Bachchan also could not attend the bash due to prior commitments. Piku has been declared a smashing hit by all critics and trade pundits; it has also become Bollywood's biggest earner abroad for the current year till date.
