Whenever someone mentions Cannes, all that a Bollywood lover thinks of is Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. She has become a synonym with the Cannes Film Festival, at least in India. But this time Katrina Kaif attended the credible and popular film festival and dressed in a black ensemble she made a marvelous appearance on the red carpet.
Bang Bang actress Katrina who attended the opening ceremony of the festival wore a black gown from Oscar De La Renta Fall collection 2015 as a brand ambassador of a cosmetic brand. Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who endorse the same brand will too be seen at the festival soon.
While her first appearance has been well received and appreciated by all her fans; one cannot but compare her gown with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's similar gown, which she had worn at Cannes 2013. Reports claim that Katrina's first day in France was reserved for press interviews and media bytes. Katrina's appearance at the 68th Cannes Film Festival was a treat to eyes and personified elegance to the core. And not to forget her red hair which totally complimented her black gown.
Apparently the red hair look is for her upcoming movie Fitoor which is being directed by Abhishek Kapoor. She completed her look with elegant tear drop shaped diamond earrings and a super thin diamond bracelet. On the festival front she attended the premiere of La Tete Haute, a French movie.
Katrina even posted a selfie with Julianne Moore, an academy award winner and an experienced Cannes member.
Celebrities walking the Cannes red carpet for the brands they support and endorse, for their movie premieres at the festival or for judging have now become a culture in Bollywood. Now that Katrina has walked the red carpet, Sonam Kapoor will be walking the Cannes red carpet in two days and till then we will have to keep guessing if she commits a fashion blunder like last time (nose ring) or flatters all fashion critics with her vintage style.
Sonam will be walking the Cannes red carpet for the 5th time on 16th and 18th of May 2015. Also "Masaan" starring "Gangs of Wasseypur" actress Richa Chadda will be screened at the festival and so she too will be attending the festival.
Looks like the 68th Cannes Film Festival will be filled with Bollywood colors this year.
