WED, 11 JAN - It is a sad day for Sarawakian's as our chief minister left the country. Sarawak is the largest state of Malaysia. It is almost equivalent to the size of Malaya Penisular. Tan Sri Adenan Satem died of a heart attack. He died at the age of 72 at the Sarawak Heart Centre in Kota Samarahan today at 1.24pm MYT. Late Adenan would have turned 73 on Jan 27. His hobbies were golfing and singing. He was quite a talented person. Adenan was appointed as the Chief Minister in Feb 28, 2014.
Chief ministers rushed to the hospital
All three deputy chief ministers, Datuk Amor Uggah Embas, Tan Sri Dr Jemut Masing and Datuk Amar Abang Johari Openg and Local Government Minister Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian rushed to the Sarawak Heart Centre upon hearing the news.
Family members, relatives and members were openly sobbing at the sad news. The public were writing comments all over facebook about Adenan. Most of them were positive, however. The nation was also granted a one day public holiday on the following day due to his death,
In 1976, he was appointed as legal adviser. He was also the committee member of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB). He won the Muara Tuong by election in 1979. He was later appointed as Taib's special adviser as the fifth chief minister.
Sarawak lost a great leader
Unfortunately, he left us today at 1.24 pm MYT. He was a great leader and there are so many good comments about him. There are many people putting their profile pictures on facebook as the black and white Sarawakian flag.
Prime Minister Najib Razak said that Sarawak lost an authoritative leader to its nation. He also personally flew down to Sarawak to attend the Chief's Minster's funeral
The Sarawak local government minister Sim Hui Kian said that the people lost a great son of Sarawak that devoted his whole life to the Sarawak Nation. His dying words were, "I hope that people of Sarawak will love Sarawak as much as I do," These were told by his wife to the public
