This ancient synagogue is now an archaeological site on the Sea of Galilee, close to modern seaside resorts and a water park. Little remains of the 4th-century synagogue, except a surprising mosaic featuring a Torah ark and ceremonial memorahs. Most of the writing is in Greek. However, what is surprising is a zodiac wheel with pagan images, including naked humans and Helios, the Greek sun god. Women are featured in each of the four seasons, which bear a Hebrew inscription.
