Facebook, the social network created by Mark Zuckerberg, may include a dating feature into its application. This new characteristic will enable the users to meet up with friends. However, it is currently available only in Beta.
The first one to notice this unusual feature was Jacob Dubé, reporting for Motherboard. According to Dubé, when he opened a link, he was taken to a page of his Facebook friends and then the question, “Want to meet up with [friend's name] this week? ” appeared.
With this new feature, you will get a notification informing the name, the number and if the person wants to meet up with you this week, but the users won’t know each other answers, unless both individuals say yes.
This new feature is a bit similar to Tinder as to start a conversation both individuals need to press the "like" button.
Currently, Facebook is running a small test of the new feature in two places, New Zealand and Toronto. Initially, this characteristic will operate as a way that friends can arrange a date to meet up. However, the main purpose of the new feature is to connect single individuals so they can start a relationship.
Mark Zuckerberg’s social network seems to incorporate other app’s features, such as Stories, which originally came from Snapchat. The Stories feature is also included in the major Facebook app, in the Messenger application and even in the WhatsApp as “Status”.
