South Africa desperate for a win
South Africa is desperate to win a game after suffering two back to back defeats. The South African team is a well-balanced team but has not been able to remove the title of chokers which has been affixed on them especially after losing matches which were well within their grasp.
However, the South African team plays best with its back to the wall and India must be wary of the wounded Proteas team. After being thrashed by the hosts and a 21 run defeat against Bangladesh, the South African team is hoping to bounce back into reckoning. The South African side could be at an advantage after playing two matches while the Indian team will be still rusty after a long layoff.

A formidable bowling line-up
The Indian team has played a warm-up match against Bangladesh and already had a week to acclimatize to the weather as well as pitch conditions.
India has an excellent pace attack trio led by Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Shami and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar. Because South Africa’s Achilles heel happens to be spin, the Indian skipper may be tempted to play both the spinners Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal. Both Chahal and Kuldeep have a good record against the South Africans. Both have played six games against the Proteas team.
While Kuldeep has 17 wickets to his name, Chahal has 15 dismissals.
Kedar Jadhav or Vijay Shankar
Another dilemma faced by the Indian skipper is to choose between Kedar Jadhav and Vijay Shankar. Both the players can swing their arms and provide much-needed relief in the middle overs, Jadhav scores more with his ability to hit hard in the slog over’s as compared to Vijay Shankar.
