England, the No.1 cricket team began their World Cup campaign with complete domination on a winning note. England, in the World Cup opener, defeated Afghanistan by 104 runs.

Ben Stokes set the curtain raiser on fire with his 89 off 79 and helped his team put a high score of 300-plus against Afghanistan at The Oval.

Jason Roy, Joe Root, and Eoin Morgan- all contributed with half centuries. Jofra Archer, as expected, produced a magnificent spell to finish with 3/27. England, going by their current form are certainly favourites for the match against Pakistan.

For Pakistan, this will be a difficult match, and they need to showcase some really good performance to be in this mega battle. Their last meeting against England saw them get defeated by a 0-4 a month back.

In fact, England scored then world record 444/3 against the same opponent at the same venue. Moreover, Pakistan were literally thrashed by Jason Holder and co.

Pakistan team management would like to bring back the veteran Shoaib Malik and Asif Ali for their encounter against the hosts. Their much talked about top order also needs to hold the innings against Archer and co. for better performance.
