Captain Aaron Finch's side will like to undo that performance and put up a better show like they against India in India earlier this month.
Australia recently defeated India 3-2 in an ODI series in India. Pakistan's team is fresh after the conclusion of the Pakistan Super League 2019.

Australia seek turnaround after India side
With Glenn Maxwell out of the first contest, Australia is likely to bring back Shaun Marsh at no. 3 after he was dropped from the final ODI against India. This would also give opportunities to Ashton Turner and Marcus Stoinis in the middle-order. Adam Zampa and Nathan Lyon could be two spinners along with Pat Cummins and Jhye Richardson as the two pacers.

Pakistan team has rested as many as six key players of the one-day side.
Captain Sarfaraz Ahmed is one of them, while Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam, Hasan Ali, Shadab Khan and Shaheen Shah Afridi are the others. Mohammad Hafeez is still recovering from his thumb injury and will miss this series.
Pakistan has named Shoaib Malik as their captain for this series while they have added the likes of Umar Akmal, Shan Masood, Haris Sohail, Yasir Shah, Junaid Khan, Mohammad Hasnain, Saad Ali and Mohammad Abbas. Their goal would be to see the progress of these players in a high-profile series and test their temperament for the World Cup ahead.
The Sharjah pitch is likely to dry and should benefit the spinners at times. The weather forecast suggests a pretty hot day which could see the players struggling in the outfield due to the heat.
Batting won't be that big a problem considering the small boundaries in Sharjah and the recent records at the venue.
