The two teams have only met twice. Back in 1973, Red Star defeated Liverpool 2-1 in both the legs during the champions league round of 16. As history has it, Red Star was, in fact, the first team to beat Liverpool at Anfield in a European League game.
Regular captain of both sides to miss this clash
Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson is likely to feature in this game after facing hamstring issues during the Premier League game against Huddersfield. Henderson left the ground after the halftime and didn't return to play the game. The absence of Henderson might just give Fabinho a spot in the starting XI.

The Brazilian midfielder made his premier league debut in the game against Huddersfield last Saturday.
According to the BBC, Georginio Wijnaldum will also return to the lineup after missing the weekend game.
Firmino had to sit out from the premier league weekend match, but he is expected to start on Wednesday joining Sadio Mane. Mane also missed that game with a thumb injury, but returned to training and will find a place in the XI.
Trent Alexander-Arnold, who missed the previous two games, might also get a start as a right back. The captain of Red Star Vujadin Savic injured himself during the side's last champions league game against PSG. He hasn't played any games since then and it is likely that he would be missing this game as well.
Sports Mole reported that Filip Stojkovic couldn't complete the last game Red Star played on Saturday against Rad and there are doubts about his selection. Richmond Boakye scored a brace in the game against Rad and would play a key role in the attack at Anfield on Wednesday.
