Out-of-form #Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata has been left out of Julen Lopetegui's Spanish squad, ahead of friendlies against Germany and Argentina.

More interestingly for Chelsea fans the man to replace Morata in the squad is Diego Costa, Chelsea's talismanic striker that Morata replaced in the summer following Costa's falling out with Blues boss Antonio Conte.

Furthermore, Lopetegui has also selected other less well-known striking options in his squad, with the likes of Valencia's Rodrigo Moreno Making The Cut ahead of Morata.

Morata got off to a strong start with Chelsea but his form has dipped, meaning that he has only scored 10 goals this season and lost his starting place to Olivier Giroud in recent games. In comparison Costa has scored six in just 13 starts for Diego Simeone's Atletico side since January, to earn his place back in the international fold.

Nevertheless, its one Chelsea player out and another into the Spain squad, with Marcos Alonso earning himself a call-up for the first time. If he makes his debut he will continue the family legacy created by his father and grandfather in playing for Spain.

Morata, on the other hand, shouldn't be too worried about not making the cut for the #World Cup squad, with there still time to impress before Russia:

"Tomorrow is not the World Cup, there are players that are not included but have their chances intact as is the case with the players included.

We are looking to get more information about players," claimed Lopetegui.

"[Morata] has had several problems, he has played little but his chances are intact. Morata, I am sure, will have a great end to the season and will have a good chance of going to the World Cup."

"We felt it was the right moment for [the new faces]. They are in good form but still there are others that deserve to be included and are not there."
