Become a volunteer of the FIFA World Cup in 2018. This is the unique opportunity for thousands of people from Russia and around the world to participate in the organization of the 2018 Fifa World Cup and the FIFA Cup Confederations 2017, and contribute to the largest sports festival in the world. There are several stages of the program, including the recruitment, selection and training of volunteers in the 11 host cities, and, finally, the organization of work during the event. In total, there will be around 5,500 volunteers participating in the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup and 15,000 at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Volunteers will provide support in areas such as ceremonies, transportation, media, protocol, language services, control of doping and fan services.
Candidates to apply
Registration is open to everyone, regardless of gender, ethnic origin and physical ability. This is one of the advantages that the FIFA has for its applicants. The candidates must be over 18 years old before May 10, 2018. For the candidates, it is not a requirement to have experience in volunteering, and this is a great advantage for the postulated candidates. A very important factor that the candidates must have is a good command of the English language (at least a high intermediate level). A second foreign language (Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Arabic), is an advantage.
It goes without saying that candidates must be cheerful, dynamic people, with a healthy lifestyle, competent in foreign languages, and with a wide range of professional skills.
Selection process
The first step is to register on the FIFA platform. It will take approximately 30 minutes to complete the online form. For this, it will be necessary to have your identification and a recent photo.
it will be digitally uploaded at the end of the registration. After being selected candidates will be invited to participate in the online tests (for more information about their analytical skills, personal qualities, and English). After this filter, the candidates who pass to the next selection stage will be interviewed in the volunteer center by FIFA or via Skype.
The final report of the persons called to be volunteers will be no later than February 2018. After this, the candidate will be invited to the next stage: training. The training sessions will be organized in the 15 World Cup centers of the 2018 volunteers. After the successful completion of all training sessions, participants will be accredited at the 2018 World Cup as volunteers.
Benefits of volunteering
You will receive a volunteer uniform, free food during your working days, a free pass to Russian public transport and a certificate of participation. However, the main benefits are intangible, as you will be awarded a unique experience of interacting with people from all over the world, making new friends, traveling to Russia, participating in the organization of large-scale sporting events, receiving training from FIFA, working with professionals from different countries and you could meet international football stars, among other enriching experiences. It is also useful to have on your resume.
