Newcastle United's keen interest to sign the Dutch star. The English football club Newcastle United were very much involved in signing Dutch superstar Nicolai Jorgensen to add more fire to their squad.

According to the reports, the deal was a complete disaster because the club failed to cough up the 20 Million pound price tag.

Reasons for the failure

However, it is now exposed by Mikkel Nissen, who happens to be the agent of the Dutch superstar Nicolai Jorgensen that this was not the reason for the failed transfer but it was due to the Feyenoord Club who did not want to sell the 27-year-old star because they had no replacement.

He agreed that Newcastle United was making a daring move with this transfer.

While talking to Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet, Mikkel Nissen further added that Newcastle tried their best to get him doing everything they could. Many other premier league clubs were also in line after him but Newcastle was on top. But as mentioned earlier Feyenoord was against this.

However, Jorgensen’s agent revealed that the transfer can still happen in the summer as the player is very anxious for the move.

He added that the club didn’t want to let him go in this transfer window but that things might change in the summer transfer window. it is always good to find the equilibrium and then accelerate negotiations forward.

Meanwhile, Feyenoord will have adequate time to look for the replacements.

Feyenoord’s taking advantage

On the other hand, according to latest reports Feyenoord is planning to take advantage of the situation as they are planning to upsurge the player’s price amid Newcastle's keen interest.

It is now claimed that Feyenoord can raise the fee to over 20 M.

They believe that the player’s recent performance can help to boost up the price tag.

The 27-year-old Dutch star scored 21 league goals last season to move Feyenoord to the Eredivisie title, and with 9 goals in all competitions, this term his talents are not going unnoticed.

Tricky situation for Newcastle United

Things will get tricky for Newcastle United now as the player is all set to represent the Dutch and fire things up for the World cup in Russia.

And if succeeded to maintain his brilliant performance there is a very high chance that his price will increase.

However if Newcastle United wants to keep things in hand they should hurry up to sign the deal as soon as the Dutch season ends and before the World cup starts.

Newcastle fans should keep their fingers crossed
