Steven N'Zonzi, 28, once played in the Premier League for both Blackburn and Stoke before signing for Sevilla for around £7m in 2015. Now, in 2017, he may make a return to the English top flight with a £35m to Arsenal.

Spanish drama

According to the Sun, the French international is desperate to leave the Spanish side due to a falling out with the club. Liverpool approached the defensive midfielder during the 2017 summer transfer window, however, the bid was rejected and Sevilla remained adamant that he wouldn't leave the club.

The 28-year-old made his feelings clear about his future which angered the fans and members of the board, therefore, the door is likely to be shown to the Frenchman. In addition to this, reports suggest that he dreams of a move back to the Premier League, with his most likely destination being Arsenal.

Furthermore, N'Zonzi may be brought into the club as early as January, as Sevilla seem incredibly keen to get the player off of their books. Both Sevilla and the Gunners have agreed on a fee within the region of £32.7m, with bonuses of £2.6m.

The fall out

The French central midfielder has publicly made his feelings clear regarding his future within a range of different ways.

The 28-year-old was furious when he was subbed off at half-time in their recent Europa League fixture against Liverpool, which they were losing at half-time to then dramatically draw the game 3-3. This alone demonstrates his toxic aura within the squad.

In addition to this, N'Zonzi has stated within multiple conferences that he doesn't see himself at the club for much longer and sees his future else where.

"I hope Sevilla qualify in the Champions League and have good luck in the future, but I will not be a part of that adventure."

"There's only a short time left, just December to pass, and it's better that my time at Sevilla stops then."

The battling central midfielder may be the final ingredient that Arsene Wenger needs to create a successful Arsenal side once again.

N'Zonzi embodies the same playing style of that of Patrick Viera, an Arsenal legend, which is just what the Gunners need.

However, Arsenal are not the only side ready to get their cheque books out. Premier League strugglers Everton are also said to be interested within the player, with current manager Sam Allardyce having a history with the midfielder. Allardyce has previously worked with N'Zonzi during his playing days at Blackburn Rovers, where they enjoyed a successful time together.
