Sanchez, who's been Arsenal's standout player this season, is running out of contract at the end of next season, but Arsene Wenger has now spoken about the Chilean's future at the Emirates.
Sanchez will be at Arsenal next season, says Wenger
The under-fire Arsenal boss was delighted with his team's performance against the Citizens and singled out Sanchez for praise. In the post-match press conference, Wenger described Sanchez as an "animal" and said, "[Sanchez] had problems to start and became stronger and stronger. He is an animal, always ready to kill the opponent. He will never give up." Sanchez scored Arsenal's winning goal in extra time after a missed opportunity by Danny Welbeck saw the ball roll in front of his feet.
The 28-year-old has now scored 24 goals in all competitions for the Gunners this season, and it is no surprise that he's been linked with various high-profile teams across Europe. Arsenal, however, is desperate to hold on to their star player and have reportedly offered Sanchez a new deal worth £300,000-a-week. The former Barcelona man is yet to sign an extension, but Wenger insists that Sanchez will still be at Arsenal next season.
"He will be here next year because he has a contract and hopefully we will manage to extend him," said Wenger at the press conference.

Mbappe, who's been dubbed the next Thierry Henry, would also be a huge signing for the Gunners, as the 18-year-old has had a stellar season for Monaco. Forsberg has also had a great season, and he's been a vital player for Red Bull Leipzig, who are currently second in the Bundesliga. It remains to be seen how many of these players Arsenal will manage to sign and whether that'll convince Sanchez to stay.
