Manchester City’s striker Sergio Aguero put his signature on a new deal and he will stay at the Etihad Stadium until 2020. The extension was made almost a year ago, but the club representatives and the player himself never made an official announcement.
Aguero in City until 2020
Pep Guardiola, the manager of the Citizens says that Argentinian striker has signed a new contract almost a year ago. It’s a great news for all the Manchester City and Premier League fans, as Aguero is one of the best players in the world, so it makes the league better for everyone.
Former Atletico Madrid star has scored eighteen goals across all the competitions this season, but it wasn’t enough for his club to take a Top4 position. The Citizens are currently at the fifth position in the table, following a devastating 4-0 defeat to The Toffies last weekend.
“Sergio will play for City as long, as he wants to. He decided to play for this club for many more years and I think that everybody at the club is happy with his decision. We really need him, because we have got some problems with goals right know. He is our best striker and I hope to see more from him. In my opinion there aren’t many better strikers in the world than Aguero and that’s why he is crucial for Manchester City.” – Pep Guardiola said about his star player.
'Jesus will make Aguero better'
The Spanish manager thinks that his new player, Gabriel Jesus will be a great addition to the squad and he will also help Sergio Aguero to play at his best level. The young Brazilian has been training with his new colleagues in the recent days and he is ready to play against Tottenham Hotspurs on Saturday.
However, Pep says that it is not a good game to make his league debut, so he will probably stay on the bench.
“I think that Gabriel Jesus is ready. Physically he is in great shape, but he has never played any game for us so I need to figure out, when will be the best time for him to play. Tottenham are currently at the second place in the table, so I think it will be better for him to wait.” – Guardiola added.
