With 'Celebrity Big Brother 2017' just around the corner, the rumour mill has been going into overdrive - and a 'Celebrity Couples' version of the show could be heading our way on Channel 5 this summer. According to reports from TellyMix, the upcoming run of everyone's favourite reality TV show could be just around the corner - and the series may even feature couples.

Bosses work on the idea

Speaking to The Sun newspaper, a source said: "It’s seriously early for anything to be set in stone but bosses are working hard on the idea and talking to the couples about big money deals to firmly secure them for the series in the summer."

“They know it could make or break their relationship, but with both of them born for reality TV it’ll be brilliant viewing whatever happens," an insider added.

Struggle to maintain ratings

Over recent years, Channel 5 executives have played around with the order and structure of the Reality Tv Show. 'Celebrity Big Brother,' one of the channel's most popular television shows, has struggled to maintain rating figures since moving from Channel 4 in 2011, but has still managed to hold on to its crown as the nation's most tweeted reality television series.

The 'Celebrity Big Brother' house has been home to lots of famous couples and duos over the years, with some of the most famous including Jedward and Spencer and Heidi Klum. In the civilian series of the show, Lisa Appleton and Mario Marconi announced their engagement in the house, before filing for a divorce in 2013.

Rumours from Digital Spy

Previous versions of the show have featured celebrities such as Katie Price, Katie Hopkins, Charlotte Crosby, Jasmine Waltz, Calum Best and Farrah Abraham. Cast mates for the upcoming CBB Summer 2017 season are yet to be revealed, but rumours from Digital Spy suggest the likes of The Cheeky Girls, Faryal Makhdoom, Jemma Lucy, Jaymi Hensley, Bobby Norris, Jeremy McConnell, Stephanie Davis, Kellie Maloney, Lauren Harries, Vanessa Feltz and John McCririck could be making their way to Borehamwood.

Last year, 'Celebrity Big Brother' legend Pete Burns tragically died at age 57. He was long rumoured to be appearing in the winter version of the reality TV competition, which aired this January. The series was won by Loose Women Colleen Nolan, and featured celebrities such as Brandon Block, who walked from the show.

What do you think of the rumours? Would you be interested in a duo-only version of the show?
