Loyal fans of Yeh Hai Mohabbatein were disturbed ever since news of major plot changes started making rounds. Rumours also suggested that Divyanka Tripathi, who plays the protagonist Ishita Bhalla, may no longer be with the show. Divyanka had reportedly expressed her disinterest in playing a  mother to grown up children. This had upset the fans as they threatened to stop watching the show, were Divyanka to exit. However, Divyanka has confirmed in an interview that she has no plans to quit the show as of now. This news has elated the fans who want to see Ishita, Raman and Ruhi as one happy family.

Divyanka cleared the air when she revealed she was surprised to learn about the speculation surrounding her character in the show. Crazy fans of the show were posting outrageous remarks on Ishita's exit from Yeh Hai Mohabbatein (YHM). The news upset the fans so much they took to Twitter and Facebook to protest. Online communities vehemently demanded the directors not to make changes in the plot and threatened to stop watching the show if Ishita's character was removed.

Making changes in the plot, the creators had originally decided to bring in an emotional twist by showing Ishita diagnosed with cancer and eventually succumbing to the disease. Divyanka, however, laughed it off stating that no such development is in the pipeline.

Sources confirm that post leap, the show will shift towards a new direction and several new characters will be introduced. Divyanka had reportedly earlier expressed concern over her fans reaction on seeing her in grey hair to suit the look of an elderly woman.

Bhopal girl Divyanka is a hugely popular TV actress who started her journey with the popular show Banoo Mein Teri Dulhan in 2006.

In between, she worked in shows such as Mrs. and Mr. Allahabadwale, Comedy Circus and Chintu Chinti Aur Ek Badi Si Love Story.
