Supergirl is a Greg Berlanti's new Series that will air this November on CBS.
The project was developed at the beginning of 2016 by Warner Bros. TV and Berlanti Production. Greg Berlanti has an history of successful Comic- adapted tv series. Arrow was the first TV Series he did his magic tricks for. Then it was the turn of The Flash (last year CW's huge hit) and now it's the right moment for DC's Supergirl.
For the lead role, they have chosen Melissa Benoist. She is a former Glee star, who had a key role in season four and season five. Along with Melissa as the title character, we have Laura Benanti as Alura Zor-El, Mehcad Brooks in the role of James Olsen.
Laura Benanti will interpret Alura Zor-El, Brothers & Sister's star Calista Flockhart will be the Editor-in-Chief Cat Grant, Grey's Anatomy's Chyler Leigh will be Alexandra "Alex" Danvers along with David Harewood, Dean Cain and Helen Slater.
Warner Bros. TV will once again produce an action-packed superhero adventure based on the DC Comics of Supergirl. Kara Zor-El is Superman's cousin. After she kept her power hidden for 12 years, she decides to finally embrace her destiny. She was sent to the Earth when she was 12, during the implosion of Krypton. She was raised by an American family, the Danvers and she bonded with her sister Alex who helped her to deal with her new powers. Now she is 24 and she lives in National city.
She works as an assistant of the it girl Cat Grant. After partially revealing her powers to National City, her sister's boss Hank Henshaw is ready to enlist Kara in his super-secrecy agency. Will she be able to work for the government, protecting the citizens and her identity at the same time?
The trailer and the promotional photos of the pilot are available online.
This new series not only feels fresh and new, like The Flash, but also it doesn't feel as too dark or serious.
Supergirl will also air on a network as CBS, not so keen on attracting the young adult audience. What will be Kara's destiny?
We will discover it this autumn!
