When Ted Cruz was running against Donald Trump in the 2016 Presidential election, he referred to him as a “snivelling coward” and a “bully” and a “pathological liar” and “a serial philanderer,” and the biggest “narcissist” in American history. Meanwhile the man who would be President suggested in a very on-the-nose way that Cruz’s wife was unattractive and that his dad played a hand in the assassination of JFK.

Then Trump beat Cruz in the election and it seems that now, after the former has been in the White House for a couple of years, the latter has fallen in love with him.

He’s even gone so far as writing a piece in Time Magazine for their article about the 100 most influential people of the year, in which he gushes over the current President and his so-called achievements.

Cruz writes that Trump is ‘a flash-bang grenade thrown into Washington by the forgotten men and women of America’

God knows where he got this idea from. The narcissistic billionaire with the solid gold toilet is some kind of voice for the working classes? That’s quite a stretch. It was strange for Cruz to agree to write this blurb. Time probably reached out to him, thinking it would be great if he did agree to do it without actually expecting him to, and then he actually accepted the offer and wrote a glowing love letter to the guy. It’s all very strange – and comical.
