According to a report from the New York Times, the legal representative team of troublesome US President Donald Trump (the poor guys who must be sweating buckets every time he sends out a tweet or makes a controversial public appearance) are worried that he will get caught lying to Robert Mueller, the FBI investigator in charge of the probe into his 2016 Presidential election and its possible links to the Russian government.

A handful of Trump associates have already pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI investigators about their ties to Russia, and it looks as though, if the President agrees to do an interview with Mueller, they're worried he'll give too much away or, worse yet, get caught lying to the guy.

Trump's lawyers are claiming that Mueller's team is far off the "high threshold" of evidence needed to warrant an interview on the matter with the President of the United States, but hey, it's up to the big cheese himself to decide. If he has nothing to hide, he'll do the interview.

Lawyers trying to convince POTUS not to do the interview

These lawyers are desperately trying to convince Trump not to do the interview, which has long been expected by the FBI and mooted by the administration. Refusing the interview looks like the President has something to hide, but agreeing to do it and then revealing to the FBI that you do have something to hide is worse. Of course, this is all just speculation, but it certainly doesn't look good.
