Donald Trump, Jr. has landed himself in hot water recently after it was revealed that he met with a Russian lawyer named Natalia Veselnitskaya during his father’s campaign for the US Presidential election. Many have seen this to confirm a link between the Trump campaign and the Russian government, who are suspected to have been in cahoots and rigged the election, or at least tweaked its outcome through interference.

‘It was never my intention’ to smear Hillary, says Veselnitskaya

However, in an exclusive interview with NBC News, Veselnitskaya has denied having any links to the Kremlin or Vladimir Putin, with whom President Donald Trump met for the first time that we know of last week at the G20 summit in Hamburg.

She claims that she only met with Trump, Jr. to discuss her client’s interest in the Magnitsky Act and not to give him incriminating information about Hillary Clinton’s campaign to use against her – but that’s not what Trump, Jr. thought.

Veselnitskaya claims that she “never had any damaging or sensitive information” regarding Clinton, and that it was “never my intention” to have such information. She was then asked if Trump, Jr. thought she did have such information and was willing to divulge it, she said it was “quite possible” and that “they wanted it so badly that they could only hear the thought that they wanted.”
