Jihadi John has become the picture of the ISIS movement in the Middle East and along with that, one of the feared figures in the world today due to the horrific executions he has performed on video. Following the first video in which Jihadi John can clearly be heard speaking with an english accent, months of questions ensued as to who the man is, finally we have an answer.

Mohammed Emwazi was born in Kuwait in 1988, his family are of Iraqi origin. In 1994 he and his family moved to the UK where they settled in London. Emwazi went to school in North Kensington to the St Mary Magdalene Church of England primary school.

In 2006 he went to the University of Westminster to study information Systems with business management, he graduated three years later.

According to reports, Emwazi was desperate to leave Britain and made several unsuccessful attempts to travel to both Kuwait and Saudi Arabia between 2010 and 2012. Finally he gained access to Syria in 2012, while there he spoke to both his family and friends. He was not heard from again, until certain acquaintances recognised his voice in the first execution video released by ISIS.
