With no changes to tobacco and alcohol duties expected, it is time to toast a drink to this Conservative Government, who have succeeded in delivering a brilliant Budget that shatters the economic myths produced by some in the Remain camp last year.
The sky has not fallen in
It seems that Chancellor Philip Hammond has proven that the sky has not fallen in and that they are preparing for this country's future post-Brexit.
No one is denying that the economy still needs further changes. But with an impending social care crisis and a chance to improve our blighted education sector, extra funding is more than welcome.
We are all in this together
The tax hikes for the self-employed may come as a shock to some, understandably, but it is about time that the rates were brought up-to-date to ensure that they are paying their fair share of tax. The Government's message since 2010 has been that 'we are all in this together.' And they are proving it now.
Resilient and strong; this is the only way to sum up the economy. The Chancellor has delivered a safe Budget in preparation for Brexit. I certainly did not witness a £4300 tax hike as Stronger In predicted, did you?
