What is the Movember movement?

Movember was first founded in 2003, when two friends Travis Garone and Luke Slattery, from Melbourne, Australia, decided to bring back moustaches. They found 30 men who were willing to take part in the trend. The campaign originated to raise awareness for men's health and prostate cancer.

In 2004, they registered a company and created a website, to help snowball their awareness campaign, referring to themselves as Mo Bros.

It was agreed that their cause was to formally cover prostate cancer, however, as the years went by, and the campaign received more attention, their focus on awareness broadened. It now covers four main men's health issues; poor mental health (depression and anxiety etc), prostate cancer, physical inactivity and testicular cancer.

Movemeber has raised over 730 million Australian dollars, or £430 million, proceeds of which have gone to fund over 1,000 men's health programs, and Movember has official campaigns in 21 countries. The Mo Bros and Mo Sista's have made an incredible difference, especially seen has how the original foundation of this idea started over a beer in a pub!

Their vision is simple, "to have an everlasting impact on the face of men's health", but it needs your help, to continue its journey.

It isn't all about growing a Moustache, there are many ways in which you can help to start make a difference today.
