Pop duo, Franklin Lake, is set to release their new single and EP both titled ‘Taking Over’ this September. Tipped to be the next big thing in the alternative Music industry, TayTay Starhz and Jude Read, who make up the duo, have been working tirelessly on their latest track and coming of age EP which is due to be released on the 18th September 2020 and will be available to stream across all platforms.

The London based singer-songwriters, who have performed alongside the likes of Olly Murs, Ella Eyre, Paloma Faith and Ed Sheeran (on some of the biggest stages in Europe, at some of the most well-known festivals and events), have shown no signs of stopping.
Following the release of their track ‘Supersonic’ on iTunes, which reached number 9 in the Music Week Commercial Pop Chart, Franklin Lake went on to work with some of the best in the business and continued to release more music.

Franklin Lakes last single ‘The Tide (tell me where your heart is)’ is one of 6 tracks that feature on the ‘Taking Over EP’. Their previously released singles ‘Fighter’, ‘Glad We Met’, ‘Stronger’ all feature on the EP alongside their latest single, ‘Taking Over’, making up the end of their coming of age tracks.
Speaking about the release of the EP, TayTay Starhz, one half of Franklin Lake, said, “It is a relief to finally have this collection out, we see it as an end of our coming of age material and [we’re] looking forward to going in a different direction musically.
A chance to start a new.”
Taking Over EP
In the making of the EP ‘Taking Over’, Franklin Lake has worked and collaborated with some of the best in the music industry. After spending a few sessions of recording at the famously known Abbey Road studios, they have also worked alongside producers at the top of their game, namely Electric Pineapple, Harry Clarke, DMUnsigned and Deevu.
On the teams they have worked with, TayTay Starhz said, “Working with Harry is great he is very good at allowing you to work at your own pace, he allows the writers (us) breath and grow our lyrics.
“Andrew Kingslow is nothing like we have experienced before this guy is a musical genius there is not an instrument or sound, he can't use or produce the energy in the studio with his is truly electric.
“Darren Martyn of DMUnsigned gives artists an opportunity to learn and come up with some great beats, music and lyrics.
“Deevu is a one-stop recording experience with a state-of-the-art studio listening to tracks back on the system is mind-blowing.”
The highly anticipated EP was originally set to be released at the beginning of the year. However, due to the current pandemic that the world is facing, Franklin Lake pushed back the release until September.
