Royal births are always a top media subject and the birth of Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor is naturally no exception. The world was excited when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced their new son’s arrival. It was like a fairytale come true. However, one employee of a Mexican TV station is no doubt in a bit of a pickle right now.
As reported by Insider, Baby Archie born to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex (Prince Harry and Meghan Markle) on Monday and weighed in at 7 lb and 3 oz. Images were shown of the newborn at Windsor Castle on Wednesday and naturally, the story was all over the media.
A Spanish-language television show believed it had the scoop of the century when it made the announcement of the birth of Archie to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in a unique way. As they displayed an image of the happy couple with their new arrival, the ticker tape at the bottom of the screen displayed the words “Harry Styles y Meghan Markle.” Luckily fans spotted the hilarious mistake and posted images to social media.
Right royal mix-up makes Harry Styles a new dad
The Metro is reporting that the mistake happened on a Spanish television show, but after an investigation, it turns out “Cuentamelo Ya!” is actually a Mexican TV celebrity show and the name translates in English to “Tell me now!” No doubt the Mexican public was surprised at what they were being told at the time!
You can just imagine the Spanish version of “You had just one job!” being yelled at the continuity ticker tape person.
Ana (@harrymariposa) is a Harry Styles fan and posted an image to Twitter. She captioned her tweet with the words, “Aww Harry Styles and Megan <3.”

Of course, Harry Styles fans always consider him to be pop royalty, but they didn’t know how far his popularity would go. Of course, the fact that Archie’s father attended the birth was a clue, as the other Harry was in New York at the time, getting ready to host the Met Gala.
Naturally, One Direction and Harry Styles fans on Twitter soon picked up the story with hilarious responses. Savannah (@fleuretpluie) asks, "what really happened here?" along with some pretty impressive photoshop work.
Yes, what really did happen? 🤣 https://t.co/4NdBfuIIQs

As for the singer-songwriter himself, he is wondering what just happened here!

Naturally, someone had to pick up on certain Harry Styles' lyrics that fit the bill perfectly.
Harry to Prince Harry:

I'm having your baby, it's none of your business.
Another right royal blunder
As noted by Metro, this wasn’t the only example of the new royal baby’s parentage getting messed around with. Reportedly, the Royal Family’s official website also made a mistake.
Initially, the announcement read: “Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was born at 05:26 am on Monday 6 May, and that Archie was the first child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and is seventh in line to the throne.
It went on to explain that the baby weighed 7 lb 3 oz, adding that the “Duke of Sussex was present for the birth.”
Whoops! Of course, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are, in fact, Prince William and Kate Middleton, who already have their own little royal family. William might have also felt a little confused at that post!
Other reactions to the birth of Harry and Meghan's baby
Horror author Stephen King is known for his quirky sense of humour and when he heard the newborn's name, he couldn't resist this tweet:
The second royal baby will be Veronica if a girl, Jughead if a boy.
