Batman is a character that is loved all over the world. Known as the dark knight, the character has fascinated millions in the US. Hollywood has recognised the iconic character, and a number of films have been made on him. The last actor to star as Batman was Ben Affleck. He was doing the role since 2016. It is now confirmed that he has opted out of the role of the masked crusader in the upcoming Film slated for release in 2021. The First Post has confirmed Jonas, who got married to global icon Priyanka Chopra already has few projects up his sleeve including his return to "Jumanji" franchise.
Younger Bruce Wayne
One reason for Ben to opt out of the role of Batman is because the producer wanted to focus on a younger Bruce Wayne who is the double identity of Batman. One actor who is dying to get the role is Nick Jonas. Teen Vogue has reported that the 26-year-old Nick has offered to play the role of Batman and left a clear message on Instagram that he was keen for the role.
Nick Jonas and Priyanka
Nick Jonas is a young and famous singer in his own right. He is also in the news for marrying 36-year-old top Bollywood and Hollywood star Priyanka Chopra who married him though he was 10-years younger. She was last seen in the Hollywood film "Baywatch." The film didn't do well at the box office, but Priyanka Chopra Jonas got good reviews.
Jonas and Priyanka had a fairy tale wedding at Jodhpur the capital of the old Indian state in Rajasthan. The marriage took place in the Umaid Bhawan Palace Hotel, which was earlier the residence of the Maharajah of Jodhpur.
After Ben Affleck opted out of the role of Batman, the American Nick Jonas in a tweet made it clear that he was available and keen to play the role of the dark knight.
He spelt out his name in the tweet.
Not confirmed
There is no confirmation that Jonas will get the role and the only information available is that search for an actor to play the role of Batman is on. Matt Reeves the director of the upcoming film has not made his preference clear. All we know is that a familiar and younger face will play the role of Bruce Wayne.
Warner Bros who will release the film has indicated the film will be released on 25 June 2021.
Other contenders
Along with Nick Jonas, there are other contenders in the ring like Penn Baffled. But one can safely say that Nick is a strong contender though nothing has been finalized as on date. One wonders that in case Nick bags the role whether his wife Priyanka who was trolled by the Cut magazine can also get a role in the film. A critic tongue in cheek has suggested she can play the role of Robin. Incidentally, the couple celebrated their fourth wedding reception recently. The fairy tale wedding tale is still going strong.
