Tim Allen, who plays the voice of Buzz Lightyear, has revealed that “The Matrix” actor Keanu Reeves also has a voice role in the upcoming Disney sequel “Toy Story 4.” Allen also told Jimmy Fallon on Thursday’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” that the new Film will “surprise you” and that it has a wonderful plot.

Disney is in the news a lot lately, what with the reboot of “The Lion King,” and the latest Disney/Pixar “Toy Story” is set to premiere in cinemas on 21 June 2019, beating out “The Lion King” by around one month. There's plenty to look forward to in the Disney universe next year.

Cast of ‘Toy Story 4’ adds new characters

According to a report by NME, most of the original “Toy Story” voice cast will be featured in the new film and trailers have been released, including cute new characters which comedians Key & Peel will voice. Allen will be voicing Buzz Lightyear and while he didn’t say exactly what role Keanu Reeves is playing, he did say Reeves had got a great part in the film and that he was a “tiny toy.”

Allen also said Reeves is a “gentle, wonderful guy,” but that initially his character sounded a lot like Buzz Lightyear, so they had to calm Keanu down a bit.

Allen also said that the new film will be “emotional.” Indy 100 quotes Allen as saying it was a “real heartbreaker” and that it was difficult for him to watch. This from a guy who once played Santa and according to the interview with Fallon, hates kids and only likes the milk and cookies to ward off the effects of the booze.

Synopsis of ‘Toy Story 4’

When the first trailer dropped last week, a brief synopsis of the film was revealed. The “Toy Story 4” story tells that Woody is confident with his place in the world but that now his priority is to take care of his kid, whether it’s Bonnie or Andy.

However, when Bonnie introduces a “reluctant new toy” by the name of Forky to the room this sparks a road trip adventure where old and new friends will introduce Woody to the larger world and how big that world is for a toy.

“Toy Story 4” is believed to be the finale in the animated franchise series and viewers are advised to have a large box of tissues handy.
