Well, this might be the final nail in the coffin as the hopes of having a new season of ‘Sherlock’ is good as dead. Honestly, this is not the first time that we’ve heard about the splat that is going on with Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman. The two talented and renowned British Actors are held high in such regard that they are on the elite list in the industry.

Freeman Talks About 'Sherlock'

During a recent interview, Martin Freeman explained the things that he has to go through while filming the series. He also stated that the fans reaction and critics made a huge impact on him. Thus making the decision of not pushing through.

It is very odd to here those from a savvy and seasoned veteran in the industry. However, we should understand and respect his decision as this might led to more issues on the set.

Cumberbatch clap back

On the other had, Benedict Cumberbatch didn’t hold back his comments regarding his co-star. While he is busy promoting his new movie ‘Avengers: Infinity War’, he was asked about Freeman. He stated that his comments about the fans or the show is very pathetic. Again, there is no love lost between these two brilliant actors.

Early this year, a crew member on the show confirmed the splat between the two. He stated that they don’t hang out, they were never together on a same room(after shooting) and they don’t see each other eye to eye. With that said, it is still amazing to see the professionalism between them.

Die hard fans are still hoping that this issue will still be resolved. Season 4 might have provided some unparalleled stories but Season 5 is a must. Cumberbatch stated before that he already signed up for Season 5. Moffat and Gatiss have also plotted the most anticipated season but there are no updates on when to produce it. The event that happened today might have slimmed the chance of the show returning. The only hope that the fans are holding right now is Cumberbatch is pretty much engage with the producers. For the past four seasons, 'Sherlock' has garnered a lot of fans outside United Kingdom. It is safe to say that the show that was criticized during it's first installation is far better than what they have expected.
