History

Seraglio Point Productions was started in 2010 ostensibly as an independent record label to release the work of Scorpio Rising, who for a couple of years around then became the biggest international band operating in Turkey, playing the Foca festival in Izmir, supporting John Robb's The Membranes and appearing onstage with Ed Harcourt amongst others. SPP signed a distribution deal with Believe Digital in 2013, and went on to release over twenty albums, EPs and singles by various artists and solo projects. The TED Talk 'Stammering & Creativity' has become one of the most watched videos on the subject online.

South Coast

After relocating to Chichester in 2014, Seraglio Point curated the Chi-Signs Festival (headlined by Mikey Georgeson & The Civilised Scene) that year, and partnered in the Blakefest (Dodgy, David Devant and His Spirit Wife) in Bognor Regis in 2016, from the SeaFiSh venue, which also saw shows by Eat Static, The Members and many more seven nights a week.

Venues

The locus of operations moved to Worthing in late 2016-early 2017, with SPP partnering with St Paul's arts centre - Mark Morriss of The Bluetones and a forthcoming charity fundraising concert with Junkyard Sons, Third Time Luckie, Ruby Taylor of Yumi and the Weather and Dandelion Charm - Bar Next Door (the Seraglio Point open stage, with poetry, spoken word and music), The Egremont (jazz Mondays), Coast Cafe de Artistes and the Charles Dickens (Stage Van H, South Coast New Bands Showcase), all whilst working with various other cultural commerical and voluntary organisations.

Sound and Vision

Seraglio Point TV is a YouTube arts and culture channel launched in 2017, and has featured interviews with many of the aformentioned artists, plus David Macadam Freud - chairman of St Pauls trustees, artist-in-residence at Worthing Museum, son of Lucian and great gandson of Sigmund; John Bentley of Squeze; Jono Podmore of metamono and Kumo (appearing at WildeFest), Dan O' Farrell, Broken Biscuits, Dandelion Charm and others.

The 'Thing One' original music compilation and 'Empire of the Mind' south coast poetry and prose compilation have both been recently released, with follow-ups planned. Seraglio Point Productions are curating WildeFest, to take place in Worthing on August 19 and 20th, 2017. WildeFest will be accompanied by a performance of OW's 'The Importance of Being Earnest', featuring local actors, at the Connaught Studio theatre.
