The third instalment in the recently rebooted Tomb Raider series may have been discovered and will be called The Shadow of The Tomb Raider if a picture snapped by Reddit user Tripleh280 is to be believed.

The user spotted the title on the laptop of a fellow train user in Montreal over the weekend, leading to speculation that this may have been preparation for a presentation by developers and publishers. If you look to the top right of the screen you can clearly see the words Tomb Raider, with three more blurry words writtenabove it. Publisher Square Enix are yet to comment.

Tomb Raider was relaunched to critical acclaim back in 2013 on the previous generations of consoles with a definitive edition following shortly after on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The sequel, Rise of The Tomb Raiderwas then revealed to be an Xbox One timedexclusive, releasing in 2015, with the PlayStation 4 and PC version coming out earlier this year.

The naming convention, seems to fit in with the series thus far, pushing the focus onto her jobrather than the protagonist, Lara Croft, played byCamilla Luddington.

Developer's Crystal Dynamic, who have just wrapped up development on the PlayStation 4 version of Rise of The Tomb Raider and its added content and PlayStation VRfunctionality Blood Ties, are based in the United States though publisher Square Enix has offices in Montreal giving some credit to the rumours.

Though it only remains speculation, the namecould point to the end of Lara Croft's rebooted adventures, with a reflection on the shadow left by her previous adventures through Asia, Syria and Russia. There are even hints in Rise of The Tomb Raider, that Lara struggles with the reality of adventure, supernatural twists and following her father's legendary legacy.

Since its original release back in 1996 on the original PlayStation, the series has reportedly sold around 45 million units.

Perhaps fitting then, that in it's 20th year the potential final game in the series is being rumoured.
