Well, what a show opener to the seventh season of The Walking Deadthat was! For most of us we're all probably still recovering from traumatism and exhaustion after the intense brutality of that first episode.
The most brutal episode yet?
In the most goriest episode of the whole series yet, we witnessed the most gruesome deaths of beloved original characters Glenn Rheeand Abraham after both being savagely beaten to death with a barb-wired baseball bat.
It turns out that the original amount of blood and gore was too much for the broadcasters of Fox UK to air due to the broadcasting code they have to abide by.
In a statement to Digital Spy, Fox UK admitted: "As Fox Networks Group is regulated by Ofcom, we have a duty of care to ensure all our programmes broadcast adhere to the parameters of the Ofcom broadcasting code".
Following the gruesomeness and extent of the violence which saw Glenn's eye almosthanging out of his skull, Ofcom received 7 complaints which are yet to be assessed.
The UK version
Not only that but in the American version, the UK missed a vital and most important final words from Glenn before Negansmashes his skull to pieces. In the edited UK version Glenn manages to get the chance to deliver a heartbreaking message to his wife saying: "Maggie, I will find you" in which a snippet that didn't make the live broadcast.
Also, another part you missed was when Glenn had his eye ball popping out; broadcasters edited the scene so you didn't see half of his brains exposed as it was too much gore for 9pm viewing.
Considering this is only the beginning of the new season, who knows how much more strong violence will go on..
What we can now expect to see in the aftermath of Glenn and Abraham's death, Rick has finally given up the fight.
In the first look spoilers of what episode 2 will bring, a distraught Rick tells his followers: "I'm not in charge anymore, Negan is". You will have to wait for the next instalment next week.
You can see what happens next on The Walking Dead when it continues Monday on FOX UK at 9pm
