When soap queen Ekta Kapoor makes a show, she makes sure that it creates history. Noggin (which just ended its first season) is proof of the fact that Indian Television is tricky and the most unpredictable thing on this planet. While shows which have had main leads turn into a Makkhi (fly) have been condemned and mocked, Ekta Kapoor’s Naagin has become a cult and found a loyal following right from day one.
Mouni Roy will be back in Naagin Season 2
Mouni Roy and Arjun Bijlani created a chemistry which was unmatched and mystical. Now, according to online reports, the supernatural drama is set to come back with its second season in October 2016 itself. Ekta Kapoor’s Kavach will be replacing Naagin for now.
Colors CEO Raj Nayak himself tweeted saying that though Season one is over, Naagin will be back in October 2016 with Season 2. The Naagin Season 2 promo showcases Mouni along with a new character whose character sketch and details are not known as yet. Online reports have claimed that Mouni will not play Shivanya in the upcoming season but will be seen playing Ritik and Shivanya’s daughter in the season with new avatar.
Icchadhari Madhumakhi to be a part of Naagin Season 2 as well
Naagin fans are also pretty excited as Mouni Roy recently chopped off her long hair to a short boyish haircut. We will have to wait and watch if this change has anything to do with the Naagin Season 2 storyline. Reports online also claim that Aashka Goradia will be back as Icchadhari Madhumakhi and Adaa Khan will be back too for season 2 of Naagin.
Naagin is a finite series which made its Indian TV debut in November 2015 and is set for a Season 2 now. Quite strangely, Indian Television doesn’t work on seasons basis especially for fiction shows, they run as long as they can and then end in a morbid way. Naagin has proved to be a game changer since it is the first of firsts for a Supernatural thriller GEC show to have seasons format.
In the meantime, we will just have to wait for the Season 2 premier.
