Bollywood will soon have a new movie based on a Sikh man's flashy lifestyle and affinity for blingy costumes. Superstar Akshay Kumar, popular as Akki, is all set to play a flamboyant Sikh and an alpha male in his upcoming film Singh is Bling.

The film directed by Prabhu Dheva will highlight Akshay as a man completely in love with blingy accessories such as his golden turban, gold chain and jackets in golden shades. The poster of the film revealed Akshay's quirky character which showed him in a golden turban, chains and even a golden gun.

Akshay and Prabhu Deva last collaboration was in their superhit film Rowdy Rathore, which has the title similar to Akki's earlier film Singh Is King.

Contrary to the rumours, the upcoming film is not a sequel to the 2008 hit film, which featured Akshay and Katrina Kaif.

British model turned Bollywood actress Amy Jackson will be seen in a sizzling role with Akshay. Amy was last seen in series of south-Indian films after debuting in a Bollywood film Ek Deewana Tha. She replaced Kriti Sanon of Heropanti fame in the Singh Is Bling, which will feature the Liverpudlian model as a stylish chic.

Bipasha Basu will play the romantic lead opposite Akshay and the film will mark the return of Lara Dutta. Last seen in the film Chalo Dilli and Don2, Lara will be seen in a funny role in Singh is Bling.

Akshay's action comedy thriller is being shot in a small historic village of Punjab called Mullowal.

The makers plan to shoot the film in a real location in order to keep the intrinsic flavour of Punjab alive. Mullowal is a small village which is believed to be visited by Sikh religious guru Guru Tegh Bahadur. Since then, the villagers promised not to touch liquor or tobacco consumption. The shops in the village, till date do not sell these two products, which are strictly prohibited.

The producers gave a new look to the village to make it look colourful for the shoot. The narrow streets have been painted in bright colours to make it relevant according to the script. The villagers are excited to see their favourite star Akshay shooting in the vicinity.
