Canadian adult star turned Bollywood actress, Sunny Leone, continues to rule the Indian showbiz. The audience were curious, and media watchers were skeptical, when Sunny stepped into the world of Hindi Film industry as a contestant of Bigg Boss, back in 2011. Spotted by filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt for the film Jism 2, directed by daughter Pooja Bhatt, Sunny made her first appearance on the silver screen.

Though her porn star antecedent continues to tag along but her name has become synonymous with films that target the masses. Belting out several racy hit films, the Bollywood filmmakers have queued up to cast her only to cash in on her image.

In 2014, Sunny emerged as the second most searched personality on the internet, after Indian PM Narendra Modi.

The conservative Indian society disapproved of Sunny’s presence on TV and films, but that has not diminished her popularity in any way. Film lovers were shocked when seasoned actor Naseeruddin Shah agreed to work in film Jackpot which featured Sunny Leone.

After appearing in dual characters in Leela-Ek Paheli, which was released last month, she is all set for her next adult comedy Kuch KuchLocha Hai opposite popular TV actor Ram Kapoor.

The film has again made people sit up and take note because Ram Kapoor happens to be a prominent face of Indian daily soaps and has been a hugely popular among the family audience.

Bollywood films that thrive on glamour and entertainment to woo the masses are focusing on making sex comedies and have been casting Sunny in the lead.

Her forthcoming films include Mastizaade opposite Tusshar Kapoor, Riteish Deshmukh and Vir Das, is produced by journalist turned filmmaker Pritish Nandy.
