Pop princess Kylie Minogue has reviled that she takes her own bed linen with her on tour to help cope with soaring stress levels while on the road.
The 46 year old pop star carefully packs a selection of home comforts, and a few luxuries before starting a tour. No matter how upmarket the hotel, or how relaxing the room, she always takes extra precautions to combat nerves." I always like to pack a few home comforts. I'm bringing my own bed linen on tour this time, along with a few DVD's. Although I do like to make the most of any peace and quiet, if I can get it".
"I still worry about a lot of things, this makes my anxiety levels go through the roof, especially when I'm on tour" declared Kylie, who had surgery and chemotherapy after being diagnosed with breast cancer In 2005.She has been acknowledged for the impact that she has made by publicly discussing her cancer diagnosis and treatment, and encouraging young women to have regular checks.
"The good thing is I don't think that my anxiety is as bad as it used to be. When we're on the road the crew become family. If somebody needs a hand, or is having a day off, everyone else just rallies around to pick up the slack and help out where they can."
"The hardest thing about touring is adjusting to life afterwards.
That can be tough. "She revealed." I believe that there is a recognised condition of post tour depression. When you have been away on tour like this, or any sort of tour, where your adrenalin is driving you every day, it can happen have friends who say they look forward to doing nothing after the tour, but I always tell them that's the worst thing you can do.
Your adrenal glands are screaming, ready to go, so you have to keep active".
Kylie's appearance at Birmingham's National Indoor Arena with her Kiss Me Once tour will feature six songs from her Kiss Me Once album, her twelfth album, which was released in March of this year. Her set list included a further eighteen songs, including a medley or two of her greatest hits, along with a couple of unexpected covers, and a full section of her eighties hits.
"We have got access to the actual PWL sounds", Kylie reveals, referring to the production team that was headed by Pete Waterman. "We have worked closely with them to get the recordings, and it's just brilliant. You're going to hear sounds that you haven't heard since the eighties. They're not all in the same key though, I can't quite hit the high notes of I should be so lucky, any more".
