The countdown to Christmas is upon us, and many of us are watching our weight until the big day so we can indulge without feeling guilty. But with a busy month of socialising ahead, it's easy to pile on the pounds without even realising. We've enlisted the help of personal trainer Chris Antoni of TMF Fitness to give us tips on how to shape-up for the festive season.

1

Cardio sessions

Try to do 4-6 sessions of cardio a week for 20 minutes, this can be anything from running , sprinting , skipping , rowing ,swimming , stair climbing , bicycling , dancing. Aim to get your heart rate up between 75%-85% of your maximum heart rate.

2

Dry December

Try to not have any alcohol until Christmas Day. Alcohol has too many empty calories and stimulates your appetite. It is also high in sugars which can be stored as fat.
