Cardio sessions
Try to do 4-6 sessions of cardio a week for 20 minutes, this can be anything from running , sprinting , skipping , rowing ,swimming , stair climbing , bicycling , dancing. Aim to get your heart rate up between 75%-85% of your maximum heart rate.
Dry December
Try to not have any alcohol until Christmas Day. Alcohol has too many empty calories and stimulates your appetite. It is also high in sugars which can be stored as fat.
Drink Water
Try and drink 2.5 litres of water a day to help keep you hydrated which in turn will stop you over eating . Sometimes we also mistake hunger for thirst so try drinking a large glass of water to see if it satisfies you, wait 20 minutes if you’re not feeling satisfied chances are you’re hungry.
Strength Exercise
Do 2-3 x strength exercise a week. By increasing your muscles mass this will boost your resting metabolism meaning you will burn more calories even when sedentary but also tightens and strengthens your muscles giving you a learner healthier look.
Reduce Calories
Reduce your calorie intake to 1200 calories a day for women 1500 calories a day for men. You need to burn more calories than you consume.
Eat Small and Often
Eat small portions more often so you are continually fuelling your body with healthy food meaning you won’t overeat, crave sugary foods and feel hungry. Avoid takeaways . Make all your foods at home that way you know exactly what you are eating and how much.
Move Around
Move around everyday, beyond exercising and building muscle you can boost your weight loss simply by moving around more, walk instead of sit when talking on the phone , take the stairs when you have the opportunity instead of the elevator .
