Apple is facing investigations by the government due to the slowdown scandal that came to light late last year, the company were faced with allegations of them purposely slowing down the processing speed, of older phones once they release a new software update to the Apple iPhone family.

The US government feels as though the company misleads their investors by not informing them of a software update causing a significant slow down in the Processing Speed of their older iphone's, such as the Iphone 6, 6s, 7 and SE. This has now lead to a class action lawsuit that is being taken out on the company.

Apple are facing investigations by the justice department and the securities and exchange commission, if the tech giant is found guilty of acting inappropriately this can result in Apple having to pay out millions of dollars.

In the month of December Apple publically admitted to slowing down their older phones, with low capacity batteries as what they justified as a way of protecting the components in their older phones iPhone 6, 6s, 7 and SE.

The well known and loved company has also been contacted by US politicians asking them to provide an explanation for this action, the Senate commerce committee has also written to Apple asking Apple to provide free batteries if the older phones were causing a problem.

Apple apologies to customers for the slowdown scandal and battery issues

In December Apple took to there website to apologise to their customers, Apple went on to say:

'We know that some of you feel Apple has let you down. We apologize.'

'There’s been a lot of misunderstanding about this issue, so we would like to clarify and let you know about some changes we’re making.'

The company then went on to explain the process of how batteries age.

Unfortunately...

Despite Apple's long healthy explanation as to what would affect the lifespan of their phones, the government still feels as though an investigation is necessary.

Ouch!

Things seem to be tricky for the company in 2018, with the company's shares dropping by 5% and the shocking turnout of the iPhone x sales. Followed by rumors of the company stopping production of the iPhone X due to the slow sales.

Let's just hope that things will turn around for Apple, as things are not looking bright for them at the moment. We can only hope for the best for them in the near future, I myself have faith that things will begin to look bright again for them.

Good luck Apple, We wish you all the best!
