Pokémon Go is a location-based game that uses GPS technology and the mobile´s clock and camera to record the location and time as the game progresses. This game was released in July 2016 for iOs and Android devices and is becoming very popular, with millions of downloads worldwide. The game allows a user to be the main actor in the virtual world and in a real location. The game centers on the search and capture of virtual Pokémon who appear as if they were real in the screen shots of the camera.
The Pokémon game
After you download the game from the App Store or Google Play, you´ll have the chance to customize your avatar.
The avatar is then displayed on your current location in a map. As you move through the game’s map, you´ll find Pokémon either in the background image or augmented reality mode. Whenever you encounter a Pokémon, you throw a Poké ball to capture them. Every time you capture a wild Pokémon, you are awarded two types of game currencies; candies or stardust, with which you can raise the Pokémon’s power.
Main objective of the game
The main goal is to collect the more than 100 Pokémon characters which have different physical characteristics, including dragons, rats, snakes, turtles, dinosaurs, and more. You won´t find Pokémon everywhere, but the most likely places you will find them is when you´re near an environment that matches a Pokémon type; for example, if you´re near water, you´ll find the water types and if you´re near a park, you´ll find the grass types; however, when you´re playing Pokémon at night, you´ll find the ghost types.
Going up levels
Throughout the game, you´ll be able to gain levels and at higher levels, you´ll be able to capture more powerful Pokémon. The higher the level, the more powerful items -- great balls, you´ll obtain for capturing Pokémon. If you catch the same species of Pokémon repeated times, you´ll be able to evolve them and during exploration, you may come across Pokémon eggs which will grow after you have walked a distance.
This will be surprising, as you may find Pokémon that you have never seen before.
Pokémon Go is available for free download in the App Store and Google play for the iPhone and Android electronic devices. For those who want to go even further in their Pokémon experience, the app allows you to make in app purchases to increase the power and game experience.
