Knocked out Proteas likely to make many changes

South Africa are already knocked out of the tournament and this might give them an opportunity to make some changes to their side.

Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi have looked really pale in this tournament so either of them could get rested. Bueran Hendricks will come into the side of that happens.

Aiden Markram has also looked off colour and JP Duminy could be tried out once more. Imran Tahir is another bowler who could sit out and Tabraiz Shamsi could be slotted back into the side.

Dwaine Pretorius is also another bowler who could be given a chance in the XI.

Confident Sri Lanka bump into the deflated Proteas

Sri Lanka's last match was against the hosts England, which they won in some fashion.

Considering that performance, Sri Lanka could decide to play with the same side for this match. But Jeevan Mendis was a weak link in that side with poor performance with both bat and ball. Milinda Siriwardana or Lahiru Thirimanne is the options which captain Dimuth Karunaratne has.

Even though the pitch in Durham is could good for batting, it might just not be as flat as we have seen in England in the past five years. Through this tournament, the pitches have been providing a balance between the bat and the ball and that thing continue going into a new venue. There is no rain in the predicted forecast for the day which seems like a welcome change.
