South Africa and Sri Lanka will play in a five-match ODI series starting from Sunday, March 3, 2019. The first ODI will be played at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. The game will begin at 10:00 AM SAST, 1:30 PM SLST.

The tour had begun last month with a two-match Test series which Sri Lanka won 2-0 to secure a historic series win in South Africa. After the first ODI, the two teams will play the four games in Centurion, Durban, Port Elizabeth, and Cape Town. The ODI series will be followed by a three-match T20I series starting from March 19.

The ODI will be available on SuperSport in South Africa. Sony Six and Sony Six HD will telecast the matches in India. SuperSport Live and SonyLiv will also provide the online streaming of the matches via their website.

Amla rested while Nortje receives a maiden call-up

South Africa have decided to rest Hashim Amla for this series. The veteran opener has featured in almost every game since coming back from injury. Amla getting rested will open doors for Aiden Markram to come back in the XI at no.

3 or no. 4.

According to the Cricbuzz report, Dwaine Pretorius or Wiaan Mulder could also get an opportunity as the all-rounders in the squad.

Lungi Ngidi will also come back into the side while Anrich Nortje has also received his maiden call-up to the one-day match. The Proteas would be under some sort of pressure' after losing the Test series at home against Sri Lanka.

Akila to make his international comeback

Lasith Malinga will return to lead the Sri Lankan team in the limited overs matches on this tour.

According to the Cricbuzz report, the Lankan side has made nine changes to their squad. Vishwa Fernando is likely to be selected ahead of Isuru Udana depending on his recent Test form. Akila Dhananjaya will also be back in the side having cleared his action. Thisara Perera will play the role of the all-rounder and Sri Lanka will hope his form from New Zealand continues.

With the forecast been predicted to be good, both the teams won't have to worry about the weather at all.

Joburg has witnessed a lot of games which have been high-scoring but in recent times the wicket has been a bit dodgy. The track will assist the pacers and in a recent ODI between Pakistan and South Africa, there was something on offer for the spinners as well.
