Pant in the contention as Bhuvi returns to the squad

India would be tempted to make some changes in the side in order to experiment ahead for the World Cup later this year. According to the Cricbuzz report, India may look to try Vijay Shankar at no.

4 instead Ambati Rayudu while accommodating Rishabh Pant as a finisher in the side. Bhuvaneswar Kumar might just come back in to give Mohammad Shami a little rest as he has featured in almost all the matches since the Australian tour. Apart from these two changes, India may not make any more changes as the side looks to build upon their recent success and seal the series against the under pressure Australian side.

Australia eye a comeback after Nagpur loss

Shaun Marsh didn't really provide much to the Australian side but he has been the only batsman who has stepped up and performed well consistently in recent times.

His inclusion has surely pushed Marcus Stoinis down the order but the all-rounder has been a good finisher for the side. Glenn Maxwell has some happy memories of Ranchi as he had scored his maiden Test century as well as a brilliant 50+ score in an ODI back in 2013 here. Australia could actually include Jhye Richardson in place of Nathan Coulter Nile, who had an off day in Nagpur.

The temperatures in Ranchi is likely to stay the mid-20s while the rain should completely stay away from the equation when the two high-profile sides clash on Friday.

According to the Cricbuzz report, the pitch could help the spinners as a dry surface can be anticipated in Ranchi. Overall, run-scoring won't be a problem as it has proved in the past that the pitch has a lot of offer for the batsmen.
