Eden Hazard and some other key players are likely to be rested as Chelsea host MOL Vidi at the Stamford Bridge in London in a group L game of the UEFA Europa League 2018-19 on Wednesday, October 4, 2018.

The kick-off is scheduled at 8:00 PM BST, 7:00 PM GMT.

Chelsea started their Europa League contingent with a 1-0 away win against the Greek team, PAOK. Chelsea is currently placed at the second position in the group L standings, behind BATE Borisov who had achieved a 2-0 win over MOL Vidi in their tournament opener.

Pedro and Christensen doubtful

Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek is close to recovery but his return is likely to be on hold for some time as it might be a risk to play him now.

According to Sky Sports, there are doubts over Pedro and Andreas Christensen's selection as well.

In the absence of the regulars, Cesc Fabregas might be given a start after he returned to the team practice session recently. Gary Cahill, who was surprisingly left out of the starting XI in the previous Europe league game against PAOK, might find a spot in XI at Stamford Bridge.

Evening Standard reported that Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri might look to rotate his side during the game against a slightly less competitive MOL Vidi. In fact, Eden Hazard might also be rested, keeping the Premier League weekend match in mind.

MOL Vidi to face the heat at Stamford

MOL Vidi has had a rough start to their 2018-19 season so far.

Regarded as a top club in Hungary, the club is currently sitting at the third position in the local league, eight points behind the league toppers. Along with this, the Hungarian club didn't have a good start to their Europa League campaign either, having lost their opening game to BATE Borisov. In fact, they are currently placed at the bottom of the Group L.

The pressure on the MOL Vidi FC will be huge as they face Chelsea for the first time in their history and the fact that it is an away game for them just doesn't help. Though, the side is coming into this game without any injury concerns which might give them a mental satisfaction.

The match will be televised live on BT Sport 2 in the United Kingdom. In addition, the subscribers of BT Sport will be able to stream the match live on the mobile app or via online video player.
