History just happened yesterday when Khabib Nurmagomedov successfully defended his title against Conor Mcgregor to retain the UFC Lightweight Championship and remain undefeated in his career. Apart from Khabib defeating McGregor with a submission hold (rear naked crank), UFC also recorded the biggest gate attendance in Las Vegas with 20,034 raucous fans. They almost eclipsed the all time mark which was recorded last November 2016 at UFC 205.

Nurmagomedov Destroys McGregor

Arguably the most anticipated fights this year didn’t disappoint a lot of fans from beginning to end.

Khabib Nurmagomedov who is probably the greatest fighter in the business right now, demonstrated why he is still undefeated. Khabib's ground game is second to none which makes it difficult for McGregor to at least land a powerful strike. The Champ did try to go toe-to-toe with Conor in the 3rd round, but went back to his original game plan which was the beginning of the McGregor’s end.

Khabib was able to hit McGregor with a straight punch, then continued his attack through ground and pound. McGregor did try his best to shake Khabib but The Champ remained his stance. After a couple of seconds, Khabib gained full control and made McGregor tap due to a rear naked crank. The fight was over, but the war was just getting started.

McGregor’s teammate kept on shouting at Khabib which made The Champ go berserk. Apparently, Khabib’s frustration just reached it’s boiling point as he hurdled the Octagon towards McGregor’s corner.

Fight for Honor

Like his moniker “The Eagle”, Nurmagomedov went flying targets specifically Dillon Danis. McGregor’s teammate. The same guy who mocked Khabib for the past two weeks.

According to ESPN and MMA Fighting, McGregor and his crew kept on insulting Nurmagomedov to the point where they’ve talked about his religion, his father and his country. Of course, Conor was the one behind all the trash talk as this is his way to hype the fight and to psyche his opponent. However, Khabib is far different from the other guys that Conor has faced.

Khabib is extremely religious and patriotic.

Khabib’s Last Fight?

After the fight and the brawl, Conor was escorted first out of the arena while Nurmagomedov was talking with Dana White inside the Octagon.

As per Dana White, he insisted for his belt to be put back on his waist but Dana didn’t do it. He then stated that if he did it, it will make the crowd more angry and might create a riot. In a way, The Champ was able to accept it as he was ushered out of T-Mobile Arena with multiple security personnel and a handful of police.
