The Calypso Brigade Can Spring Surprise
The West Indies team were devoid of their major stars but were able to post a good total in the First ODI.
However, their bowling attack did not have the edge which would have helped the Caribbean defend their total.
Though the calypso brigade had a handsome total on the board, Rohit Sharma-Virat Kohli partnership made the total quite simple. There are chinks in the Indian armour, especially in the middle order which can be utilised by the visitors to exert pressure on the hosts.

Chinks in Armor
Virat Kohli’s batting is impeccable, and it will be interesting to see how the West Indies bowlers try to contain him if not take his wicket.
The Indian skipper is not leaving much for the middle order batsman, and it has become a routine affair for him to hit centuries while chasing. Two batsmen are waiting to be tested- Ambati Rayudu and Rishabh Pant, who was drafted in the team as a specialist batsman. If Kohli fails with the bat, it will be their baptism with fire.
Too much reliance on spin

The Indian pace attack is also not up to the mark. The Indian pace battery composed of Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav and Khaleel Ahmed could only pick up three wickets in their 30 over and went for 209 runs.
The spinners did the job for the Indians, or they would have been hammered for more runs. If the Windies had managed to get early wickets, the story could have been different. The Indian skipper must be keenly missing the services of his ace seamers, Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, the Indian
The Indian playing 11 will not be changed except the fact that Left-arm spinner, Kuldeep Yadav could be included if the pitch is conducive for spin. The Windies are expected to play the same 11 players who played in the First ODI at Guwahati.
