With Tamim Iqbal out of the tournament, Bangladesh is all set to play Afghanistan in the final group B game of the Asia Cup 2018 on Thursday, September 20, 2018, at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

Live updates:

Overs 34: AFG 147/5

Afghanistan wins the toss and decides to bat first.

The match is scheduled to start at 3:30 PM Local, 5:30 PM BST.

Both the teams have already qualified to the Super Four, alongside India and Pakistan from group A. Sri Lanka were knocked out of the tournament, having lost their two matches against Bangladesh and Afghanistan respectively.

No clear replacement for Tamim Iqbal announced

With Tamim Iqbal ruled out of the entire tournament due to the wrist fracture, Bangladesh will have to find someone fit for the opening slot. Coming into this Asia Cup.

Bangladesh was looking for an ideal opener to partner Tamim, and now they will have to find two openers.

Liton Das, who opened the innings and scored a duck in the first game might retain his spot. Mohammad Mithun might be told to partner Das at the top.

According to the Cricbuzz, Bangladesh can make up to two changes in their side, but those changes will be announced right after the toss.

Afghanistan on their dream run

Afghanistan is again a far settled unit with no such injury worries.

The spin trio bowled really well against Sri Lanka, and if Afghanistan were to beat Bangladesh, the three spinners will be key again. The batsmen showed maturity in the first game, which Afghanistan had lacked in the past.

The spirited Afghan team would want to go into the Super Four with another win under their belt.

As per reported by ESPN Cricinfo, Afghanistan is likely to be unchanged.

The pitch at Abu Dhabi was on the slower side during the game between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. Scoring runs towards the death has an issue for the side with the pitch slowing much more in the second innings. The team which wins the toss is likely to bat first.

The weather will be hot and dry for the players to settle in.

The conditions won't be easy, but we can expect a good game of Cricket.
