After winning the first Test by a huge margin of 206 runs, South Africa is all set to lock horns with Sri Lanka in the second game of the three-match series which will be played at the Newlands Stadium, Capetown from January 2-6, 2017.
The match start time is 2:00 p.m. India time.
Sri Lanka wins the toss and elect to bowl first in the pace-friendly conditions.
In the first Test at St George's Stadium, it was the pacers who laid the winning platform for the hosts, and as per reports, the surface in New Lands is also swing friendly which will surely give Faf Du Plessis and his boys and upper hand over the islanders.
It should be noted that South Africa has just lost one Test in the last fourteen matches played in New Lands. Angelo Mathews, the Sri Lankan skipper is not at all a happy man, as his batting department has been continuously failing to perform for the past couple of series.
Top order batsmen Kushal Perera and Dinesh Chandimal are totally out of form, and it adds up the worries of the visitors. The Captain is expected to reconsider the third position in which Kushal is currently playing, and sometimes, Angelo himself may move up to this slot for enhancing the strength of the batting lineup.
For the Proteas, things are all on track, and they are expected to stick on to the same playing eleven which appeared in the previous game.
